Rain

It was one rainy afternoon. Devon forgotted to bring an umbrella. She was hurrying that morning or else she will be late for her class. She was standing at the road, when little droplets of rain started to fall. The jeepneys, busses and taxis wouldn't stop. They were all full. The rain started to get strong. She was getting wet and she was cold. Then a boy, probably same age as her, stood beside her. "Come here under the umbrella miss," the guy said. "Thank you," she timidly replied to the nice boy. "You're wet," he said. He took off the jacket that he was wearing and put it around Devon's shoulder. The boy was very nice and Devon said thank you again. They were both waiting for a ride. The boy got frustrated and took his phone out and called someone. After about 15 minutes of waiting, a black car stopped in front of them. It seems that the boy know the owner of the car. "Miss, you should ride with us, I don't think it's safe for you to stand out there. Don't worry, we won't harm you," the boy said. Cold and alone, she decided to ride with them. She thinks that the boy is a trustworthy person. He asked for her address and she answered. "What's your name miss," the boy asked. "Devon. And you?" she replied. "I'm James. Here's your stop," James said. She said thank you and got out of the car. She waved good bye to James.

"That's how I met you're grandfather," Devon said to her grandchildren, Patricia, Ryan, Monica and Sam. "What a sweet story grandma. It's a good thing grandpa was carrying an umbrella that day," Sam said. "Rain is a good thing after all. From now on, I like rainy days," Monica said. James, now gray-haired, approached them. "Looks like you are having fun," he said. "Yes grandpa. Grandma told us the story of how you met her," Patricia said. "Ah. That story huh. It was all thanks to the rain that I met the love of my life." James said then he smiled.

The end
